Each Day Is A Mother Day
The Power of a Woman
A Force That Shapes Generations
Never tell a woman that she cannot do something.
A woman possesses a strength that often goes beyond what words can describe. She is a creator, a nurturer, a teacher, a guide, and a source of resilience. She carries life within her body, nurtures it with her own strength, and brings it into the world through immense sacrifice and courage. She dances with two hearts, breathes for another soul, and carries the weight of two worlds within her.
Yet the true worth of a woman cannot be measured solely by her ability to give birth. Her power lies in her ability to shape lives, build character, preserve values, and influence generations. A woman is often the first teacher of a child, the first source of comfort, and the first example of kindness, patience, and faith.
As William Ross Wallace famously wrote: "The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world."
The future of society is often shaped in the lap of a mother and through the guidance of women who dedicate themselves to raising thoughtful, responsible, and compassionate human beings.
The Honor of Women in Islam
Long before modern discussions about women's rights, Islam elevated the status of women and recognized their dignity, intellect, and importance. Allah says in the Holy Quran: "And We have certainly honored the children of Adam." (Quran 17:70)
This honor includes both men and women, emphasizing that every human being has inherent dignity in the sight of Allah. The Quran also states: "Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women... Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward."(Quran 33:35)
This verse beautifully illustrates that spiritual excellence, faith, and good deeds are not limited by gender. Men and women stand equal before Allah in their ability to earn His pleasure and reward.
The Status of Mothers
One of the greatest examples of a woman's honor in Islam is the elevated status of mothers. A man once asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
«"Who among the people is most deserving of my good companionship?"
The Prophet ﷺ replied: "Your mother."
The man asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother."
The man asked again, "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother."
Then he said, "Your father." (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
The repetition highlights the immense sacrifices and responsibilities carried by mothers throughout their lives. Another famous saying of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ states: "Paradise lies beneath the feet of mothers." (Sunan an-Nasa'i)
These teachings demonstrate the extraordinary respect Islam grants to women, particularly those who nurture and raise future generations.

Empowering Women Benefits Society
Malala Yousafzai said: "We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back."
When women are educated, respected, and empowered, entire societies benefit. Strong women raise strong families. Educated women build educated communities. Compassionate women nurture compassionate generations. Islam encourages the pursuit of knowledge for all believers.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim."(Ibn Majah)
This command includes both men and women, (not just men) emphasizing the importance of learning and personal development.
➡️Never Tell a Woman She Cannot
➡️Never tell a woman that she is incapable of achieving her dreams.
➡️Never underestimate her determination, intelligence, or potential.
Life often places women in situations that demand extraordinary courage. Whether balancing family responsibilities, pursuing education, supporting loved ones, or overcoming personal hardships, women consistently demonstrate resilience.
As Eleanor Roosevelt wisely observed: "A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water."
This strength is evident in countless women who continue to rise above adversity and contribute positively to their families and communities.
"I raise up my voice not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard." Malala Yousafzai
A strong woman does not merely change her own life. She influences generations, strengthens communities, and leaves behind a legacy that continues long after she is gone. For when a woman discovers her true strength, there are few limits to what she can accomplish and when she walks with faith, purpose, and determination, she becomes a force capable of changing the world.
"Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail." Oprah Winfrey
Every woman deserves respect, opportunity, and encouragement. Her value is not determined by society's expectations but by her own unique character, her faith, her actions, and her contribution to the world around her.
Yet She Is Still Questioned
A woman carries within her the strength to build homes, nurture hearts, inspire change, preserve values, and transform societies. She carries the legacy of the past and the hope of the future. She carries life within her. She dances with two hearts beating as one. She breathes for herself and for the child growing inside her. For months, she bears the weight of another world within her body and endures pain that few can truly comprehend. Through courage and determination, she brings new life into existence. Yet a woman's greatness should never be limited to her ability to give birth. Her true power lies not only in creating life but also in shaping it. She is often the first teacher a child ever knows, the first source of comfort, and the first example of compassion, integrity, and perseverance. Through her guidance, children learn values, morals, and the skills needed to navigate life. Despite all her sacrifices, a woman is still often questioned.
She is questioned when she chooses to stay at home and raise a family, and she is questioned when she chooses to build a career. She is questioned for being too strong and criticized for being too soft. Society celebrates her achievements one day and doubts her abilities the next.
The woman who carries life within her, nurtures families, supports communities, and shapes future generations is still forced to prove her worth repeatedly. Her wisdom is overlooked, her contributions are underestimated, and her sacrifices are often taken for granted.
A mother may spend decades caring for her family, sacrificing her dreams, her comfort, and sometimes even her health, yet her work is rarely measured with the same value as a paid profession. A daughter may excel in education and leadership, yet still be told that her ambitions should come second to others. A wife may stand beside her husband through every hardship, yet her role is often viewed as support rather than partnership.
The discussion should not be about whether women are superior to men or men are superior to women. The real issue is respect, dignity, and recognition. Equality does not mean that men and women are identical; it means that both deserve equal respect, equal opportunities, and equal appreciation for their contributions.
Islam teaches that the most honored among people are those with the greatest righteousness and character, not those with a particular gender. Human worth is not determined by being male or female but by one's actions, integrity, and service to others.
If women have given humanity its greatest leaders, scholars, scientists, inventors, artists, and reformers, then why are they still asked to justify their value?
Perhaps the question is not whether women are capable. History has already answered that.
The real question is why society continues to underestimate a force that has shaped every generation since the beginning of time. A woman should not have to prove her worth. Her contributions are written in every family, every community, every nation, and every chapter of human history. Respect for women is not a favor. It is a recognition of reality.
